If you have plenty of Video RAM (256 MB +), I'd definitely suggest this and this to improve the distant LoD normal maps and textures, making them much less blocky.

Try disabling just that one and see what stability difference it makes and whether the graphical improvement is worth the instability.Īlso, I'd definitely suggest BT Mod, which improves the interface a ton, customizing it for PC instead of the default clone of the 360 interface. Yeah, I've ran all of those but Natural Environments without major problems, so that's probably the problem.

Anyway, mods are the way to go with oblivion! Even if they cause problems like mine! They're that good I haven't had problems with my graphics card before, but that could definately be a problem. I think it might be the natural environments mod? Except the updates to the weather and whatnot are so good that I don't want to disable it. It sure is aggravating, but the game is now too much fun to even care. I am not too interested in changing the game play mechanics, just bringing it a bit closer to modern games. While I am not so inept that I need an installer to do it for me, I was wondering if anyone knew of any sort of guide or mod pack or something that was strictly a graphics overhaul. Strangely, however, I'm still playing like crazy. Morrowind has a mod pack that basically sets it up for you. 4) it suddenly bluescreens and restarts the entire computer. 3) it quits to the desktop suddenly without an error.

1) the screen goes black but the sound continues and its obvious I can still move about. Unfortunately, it's become really unstable! I routinely experience one of four things.

Would me creating this mod upset everybody or get me banned from TesNexus. this is what I wanted when I bought the game. Oblivion Graphics Overhaul - posted in Oblivion Mod Requests: Just wondering if anybody would be interested if I did create the Oblivion Graphics Overhaul, the oblivion version of the Morrowind Sound and Graphics overhaul on Planet Elderscrolls. Having to actually level up, having to actually get good gear. Well, I have pretty much all the mods listed on Drakkcon's page, and the game is 100x better. There are smaller mods that try to fix it but I've never used them so I can't recommend one.Wow. OOO does fix this but it also does too much for a first game. I think everyone should try to play with it unchanged once but it might be hypocritical of me considering I will never play with it again. As you get stronger it becomes more obvious the game expects you to min-max. Now, the leveling in vanilla Oblivion is really bad. You've played Skyrim, right? It's like combing Organized Bandits, Immersive Creatures, Complete Enemy Overhaul, and Morrowloot Ultimate. It's a great mod but it adds and changes so much, absolutely massive mod. Unofficial patches (only get ones for DLC you have)īOSS (Might not be needed but won't hurt either.)Īnd I cannot un-reccomend OOO for a new player enough.ĭo not use it on your first Oblivion character. Necessary patches/fixes/crash prevention stuff: Added some links to the suggestions I agree with from an above post for you OP, as well as my own suggestions.
